This week we have been working hard in our writing and maths. We have been learning how to use the strategies in our math learning into oral language. We found it a little bit hard trying to explain how we found our answer to say it out loud using the maths language. We know we will get use to explaining our learning soon because we talk about it everyday. In Writing, we are talking about 'Myths and Legends'. To help us build our vocabulary in writing, we are researching a hero or heroine of mythical time and legends. Here are some photos of us researching and in deep thought. Amazing Arewhana Amazing Arewhana had a blast this week. This swimming lesson was about staying together and staying safe. The scenario was if the children were ever to fall out of a boat, then they would some how know, how to stay afloat, stay warm and stay safe until someone could rescue them. These Arewhana were really amazing, why? because they needed to fall backwards into the pool, and be willing to trust their swimming instructors to be there when they fell in and to swim on their backs from their previous lessons given. This would help them feel safe around water at all times, even home with the bath tub. The children enjoyed the life jackets wearing and being safe inside and outside with water. Hope you enjoy our photos because we had a blast!!.
WHAT IS 'RAISE OUR BOYS'? This is an initiative to prevent violence towards women. We talked about respect and being loving to all. We made ribbons to stand up against what is happening. We want to be great leaders for our future. We in Amazing Arewhana will try to raise awareness in our homes and in communities.
