Amazing Arewhana Week 3

PAPATOETOE CENTENNIAL POOLS & LEISURE CENTRE
Amazing Arewhana are lucky enough to be part of the Swimming Programme at these pools. Our first lesson was to be put into 'Swimming groups' of
HOW WELL WE CAN SWIM.
So firstly we had to swim in twos for up to 30 metres, with lots of splashing and laughing we were told 1 or 2 or 3. Once that was done we were told to go to the Swimming instructors who were 1, 2 or 3 and then we would start our learning.
Some children were a bit worried that they would not touch the ground at first, but once they got over the fear of being at a new environment, they were able to trust and believe that they could stand up.
We can't wait for our next swimming lesson too.

PERCY & HETTIE & CHICKENS FEEDING & CLEANING...
This week is our turn for keeping our farm animals feed and environment clean. We were so excited as we have never been up that close and personal touching our Pigs. It was lots of fun.
We also went hunting for eggs. Our chickens are not your normal average chickens that lay their eggs in their 'normal area of space', they are laying eggs in the flax which is so funny and cool.
We really have enjoyed doing our part for Rowandale School to have our animals cared for, just like us.
We were lucky enough to get an egg too...YAY!!

PARK AND WALK
THANKS TO THE TRAVEL WISE TEAM AND MR SAVAGE FOR ORGANISING THIS. WE DID OUR SAFE WALKING TO SCHOOL.
This morning we had eight children from Rm 15 Amazing Arewhana who walked from the Rowandale Reserve to our Rowandale School.
We were lucky enough to have our Police Officers present to help us walk across the road by the big Round about. They were at our school for 'Road Patrol training'. We are so lucky to have support to help our children be safe when walking to school and how to cross the roads in our area of Manurewa. Keep it up Rowandale School and especially Amazing Arewhana.
