Individuality Song Amazing Arewhana love to sing and to do Zumba fitness. Singing is a part of our daily ritual of learning. Singing makes us happy and it helps us to clear our minds, as we don't have to think when we sing. We may not have the best voices like Beyonce or Shakira or even Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, but we try to stay in tune and time. We wanted to show everyone what we sound like now because we know we will get better in time. Zumba Fitness Zumba has become a new fad for these children. As their teacher, I am lucky enough to use my Zumba Kids training with them. Being a qualified Zumba Instructor gives me the opportunity to teach and help children enjoy movement, beat, and rhythm. Our Patterns and Writing

Image
This week Amazing Arewhana were able to complete their Samoan patterns and their writing that went with it. The children were able to choose patterns that they could relate to in their everyday lives. These are the finished pieces of work Amazing Arewhana have done. They are very proud of their accomplishments and can't wait to design more patterns at MATARIKI time.

Last week Amazing Arewhana were privileged to win the READING EGGS AWARD. This entails the Reading and spelling these children are doing. Keep up with the great learning Amazing Arewhana. The papers they are holding up are the patterns they made during Samoan Language week. They learnt shapes have meanings. For example, birds, the sun, the pandura leaf, circle of life, spear head, fish, turtle, and the worm were used in all patterns to do with the Malu and the Pe'a.  The children are really excited that they were able to sketch their art, they learnt about Tatau.
