BOTANICAL GARDEN MINI BEASTS ADVENTURE 2017

Amazing Arewhana were lucky enough to go to the Botanical Gardens to continue the Inquiry Learning of MINI BEASTS.

All the Rocketeers were put into groups and taught by a Kaitiaki of the Botanical Gardens. We had Miss Caroline and she was absolutely fabulous. She showed us places and scenes of a minibeast and how they cope in their environment. Mostly we learnt about the worm and how their job is to make amazing soil by using their 'wee's and poo's'. The song that we chanted was:
All day long worms CHEW CHEW CHEW WEE WEE WEE & POO POO POO...
 








Our trip to the Botanical Gardens was very fulfilling, we learnt a lot and it made connections with what we had learnt through the term. It was good to see lots of the children enjoying the environments of the minibeasts.

Our First 'TEAM' Assembly. Term 2

Amazing Arewhana Term 2 has started and Amazing Arewhana have already shown our team 'ROCKETEERS' that we mean business... By walking to the our assembly quietly, sensible, and paying attention to where we were walking, we were given the award for  'BEST CLASS AWARD'. We were told that we came into the hall quietly and sat up straight away and continued to do so throughout the Assembly. We were very happy. We will continue to set the bar for our 'Rocketeers' Team. We have a new 'Team Leader', Mrs Turu. She has come from 'High Flyers' and has accepted the role of being our Team Leader. We are really excited to have her in our team as she has started the 'Tidy Kiwi' Award, which means our classes and cloak bays need to be clean all the time and we will be told who the winner is at each assembly. Welcome to Room 15 - Amazing Arewhana in the making!!!!

Our first week at school. On our first day back to school, we were all nervous firstly because our teacher was new to our school, and secondly we were all going to be in a new block. Our first day was a good day. Through the week we started talking about our 'branding name'. Our teacher used statistics, by making a tally graph and then a bar graph we had managed to find our name. Unfortunately our first name was not chosen because it was a name used in 2016. So we put our heads together again and our teacher said that we could be like elephants as they have great memories. Therefore our name emerged to 'Amazing Arewhana' (Elephants) based on holding on to great memories in the making. Hope you enjoy our 2017 journey. Signing out. Amazing Arewhana.
